Individual Competitor Ranking

League Scoring Guidelines:
1. To be included in Coalition Team Scoring a team must participate in a minimum of three (3) Coalition Sanctioned Events.
2. The three top placements for each team are added to make up a composite score for each team.
3. Team ranking is ordered based on low to high composite score, where the lowest score is awarded first place, the next highest score is awarded second place and so on.
4. A blank score for any team for any event indicates that team did not field a team for that event.

Senior Surf Invitational

The City of Huntington Beach has some events after the end of the summer. September 16-17 was the 47th Annual Huntington Beach City Surf contest, sponsored by The City of Huntington Beach Community Service Department, Huntington Surf & Sport and Dukes.  Participation was limited to persons residing in the Huntington Beach Union High School District. Winners of each division received awards. Driver’s license or school ID with proof of age (birth certificate) must be presented before competing. Ages are as of contest date. Each participant received a contest T-shirt and food all weekend. The HB Surf Team had several members enter and do well.

October 21st was the Senior Surf Invitational. The City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Council on Aging (HBCOA) “invited” all surfers ages 50+ to register.  Surfers competed on the south side of the pier and were judged on wave selection, maneuvers, fluidity and style. Food, goody bags and great awards for the winners made this a fun event for the older members of the HB Surf Team who did not go to the Cardiff coalition tournament hosted by the Swamis Surfing Association on the same day.

On Sunday the 22nd of October a third event was held at Goldenwest and PCH. The HB 80s event. This was the third event in the Triple Crown of Retro Surfing. All contestants had to ride a retro surfboard.

All these events were only $40 each for the entry fees.

The Coalition events ended for the year with Tourmaline, Cardiff and La Jolla Shores as the venues for these last three tournaments. The team ranked eighth at Tourmaline when Tim and Amy Reda won first and second place in their divisions (shown below):
